Reseller, I understand and share your concern regarding the possible negative reaction that might occur as the result of Iomega purchasing certain SyQuest assets and thus impacting Q4 numbers. I have high hopes for a very good quarter and would be disappointed to see anything distract investors from seeing the real progress that management appears to be making.

On the other hand, I believe that a purchase is in their best interest both financially and strategically. FWIW, I outlined some of the issues in a recent post on the other thread:

Perhaps the key would be in how effectively the purchase is presented. Assuming the deal is truly a win for the company, it seems to me that Iomega's marketing resources could simply explain the benefits, address the concerns, and guide investors to see the opportunity through the eyes of management.

In other words, a good deal is a good deal, and I believe investors are likely to react positively as long as they are provided with the facts.
