I've never been very impressed with TLC. Last time I looked at them closely, they were full of debt and were basing their strategy on using projected future cash flow to pay it down. Then they bought Broderbund and swapped out some debt for preferred equity. Hmm. Suspicious, eh? Stock went up anyway.

This Mattel/TLC linkup is pure idiocy and Wall Street knows it. Too many blue chips are pre-announcing for the market to go any higher. And what's with this silly trend announcing M&A transactions concurrently with earnings warnings?
