"This is analogous to the IPO concerns."

Somewhat analogous. Protecting one's self from the IPO sharks is simple. Stay away at least until all the suckers have been gobbled up. The story is different, however, if an investor has thoughtfully considered a stock purchase and then gets suckered.

I live just a few miles from the Vancouver Stock Exchange, dubbed by the WSJ as the Scam Capital of The World (The exchange, that is. The city isn't--it, on the other hand is quite beautiful, very safe, and a great place to visit. Just don't tell anyone about Vancouver Island. It's a secret.).

I think the truth is that in ALL markets, there is a certain level of insider trading and outright manipulation of prices. Little fish will always be subject to bites. Hopefully, we'll just grow old with scars. And be alive at the end of the day to show them off! That's my plan, anyway.

Ciao,
David
