ITeX Announces Successful ADSL Demonstration at Comdex Fall '98 FYI

December 15, 1998 -- Integrated Telecom
Express, Inc. ("ITeX'') announced that it
successfully completed at Comdex a
demonstration of its host-based ADSL
modem running on advanced Intel
processors.

ITeX's Scalable ADSL Modem ("SAM''),
which was announced last August, provides
consumers an affordable, easy to use, always
on, high-speed connection for Internet and
other broadband applications. Scheduled for
mass production in the first quarter of 1999,
SAM leverages the host PC's CPU power to
achieve a scalable data rate of up to 1.5
Mbps downstream and 512 Kbps upstream
transmission over regular copper wire as
specified in the recently approved ITU-T
G.lite standard. The product's host-based
architecture will permit its introduction at a
very competitive price point, and will also
allow easy software upgradability as needed
in the future.

According to Young Liu, President and CEO
of ITeX, "The successful demonstration of
our host-based ADSL modem at Comdex
signifies a major milestone in our
development of ADSL modem technologies,
which we believe will enable the mass market
for the newest high-speed Internet
connectivity.''

Ali Sarabi, Director of Intel's Broadband and
IP Telephony Lab, said, "ITeX's commitment
to both host-based technology and the G.lite
specification means that consumers will soon
enjoy standards-based products that utilize
the power of high-performance Intel®
processors.''
