Correction. According to my recollection, in 1974, there was no vote on impeachment. Nixon counted noses, and resigned before any vote was taken. That minor correction does not change your point in any material way, however.

If it goes to a senate trial, it will be interesting to see how Senators Leiberman and Moynahan vote. I pick these because, statists that they are, I think they put their notion of justice and the interests of the nation above partisan politics.

P.S. If Nixon had done a tenth of what Sleazebag Bill has done, the media would have gone ballistic. But since the Washington press corps is overwhelming Democrats who shamelessly peddle their own ... but don't get me started!
