While only a small item, the Microwave Power Devices Inc. $39 million order to boost their backlog to $128 million shows the scale of the development of the cdmaOne industry continuing through 1999. Lucent won't be putting those highly linear, single channel, cellular CDMA base station amplifiers in a warehouse.

One could argue that maybe they displaced somebody else but it is unlikely. Most likely it reflects continuing exponential growth in cdmaOne.

Meanwhile, L M Ericsson continues the decline.

On the TDMA amazing growth rate figures and the market share drop for Q! in handsets, the Q! drop is due to the many licensees crowding in, using Q! ASICs and paying Q! royalties so of course that means reduced market share. [Repeating myself from an earlier post but too bad since Tero and others are still thinking something real has happened. Q! has also corrected the Dataquest figures]. TDMA was explained by the AT&T promotions and great Nokia handsets.
