Jim, I want to see you back on Squawkbox and I'm not the only one:

Message 6839990
Message 6830909

But, please Jim, do something about that other tsc guy on CNBC. Is he really as nasty as he appears? He seems to get a perverse pleasure at tearing down a company - to come up with some negative insight that would cause alot of stockholders to lose money and faith. He never comes up with anything positive.

Regards,

Mary Cluney

JJC,

Good evening. Tell you what. Next time you're in the Phoenix area, look me up and I'll treat you to a movie (popcorn and soda too, if you like). And I won't broach any taboo subjects either (like Jim Rogers).

KJC

Question for Mr. Cramer, What does this mean:

thestreet.com

Random musings:
...I'll say one thing for the Amazon.com (AMZN:Nasdaq) bump by Oppenheimer: It was well timed. I got my Amazon mug in the mail the day before, the one you get for being a good customer. Didn't get anything from Borders (BGP:NYSE) or Barnes & Noble (BKS:NYSE)...

As I ponder your comment, I am sipping hot chocolate from an Ascend mug, wearing a Cisco T-shirt and planning to wear my Lucent jacket to school today. (all of which I am long)

Also, I just checked the latest news on Excite, via my Internet connection MCI WorldCom, and while online bought a Christmas gift on my CitiGroup Master Card using my Compaq PC running Microsoft software and saved some stuff on my Seagate hard drive, but I do not have any promotional "gear" from any of those companies (I'm also long all of them)

I have subscribed to thestreetdotcom for more than one year, and have learned a great deal from you and the other contributors (and made investments and trades resulting in gains worth 250+X the price of the subscription).

My question is what does a free mug have to do with your investment decisions?
Also, as a percentage of sales, who is the world's largest giver of mugs? <G>

thanks
Teddy

James, you may consider doing what Clinton refuses to do. Admit you were wrong in making the statements you did. That should defuse the situation somewhat.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that Wavephore was a good short at that point (and I was lucky enough to make a couple of bucks on a quick trade), but the point is that the statements you made were your own opinion, and frankly libelous. Calling them a "Fraud-u-net" without concrete evidence was wrong.

If you are truly concerned (as I believe you may be), about the mental state of gamblers with online accounts, bidding up anything.com to ludicrous heights with ZERO idea of what they're buying, you could have used a better company to make an example of.

You could've used Amazon or Ebay or Onsale or Books-a-dozen or 50 other companies that shot up, many due to short squeezes, others due to the greater fool theory.

Furthermore, all of these ARE not shortable at most brokerages. You might have gotten you're point across better with these bubbles.

You might have avoided the Goliath pounding on David scenario. You would have gained a bit more credibility, and you'd still be on Squawk box.

Regards.
Jose.

Congrats James. It took balls to go on this a.m. and have Mark Haines grill you. Your nervousness was obvious, and understandable. In front of your family, all your peers, and the entire Squawk Box audience you had to have a friend run you through the proverbial grinder.
My hat (if I wore one, heh heh heh) is off to ya!
You were never really wrong, but the perception of your "indiscretion" is what mattered to CNBC. Glad it is finally cleared up.
Cheers
Darin
