I just got this on the European question, curtsey of Peter Verbeke in Belgium.

Sun,

As I am not a subscriber to SI, I'm trying to reply to your question by e-mail.

I live in Belgium, and lately the stores have been flooded with Banshee based cards. They are even selling them in supermarkets. It is the first time I ever saw graphic cards being sold in supermarkets.

The brands that I see on the shelves:

Guillemot
Creative
Diamond

A lot of Banshee, very little nVidia TNT. Also some Voodoo 2 remaining on the shelves. The Banshee cards sell at 6000 BEF (150 Euro) while the TNT cards are at 7000 BEF (175 Euro). 1 Euro is about 1.18$, so the cards are much more expensive over here.

Guillemot seems to have the best presence in the retail channel.

I do not see a lot of STB cards in the stores here. Also ATI does not seem to have a strong presence. Of course, Belgium may not be representative for Europe.

Regards,
Peter
