Could GIC be doing what TCI did by selling to AT&T? Lucent or Cisco could take them to the next level (no pun intended) and speed their time to market with new products and digital equipment. Lucent will miss the spending by AT&T as they devote dollars to the upgrade of the TCI cable plant. Sony would love to make the set top box a plug in play unit for all their consumer products and toys. This is very interesting. If GIC gets taken out, why not SFA?

Management sold stock into these negotiations. What was that about? I would love to see GIC get taken out here. GIC is the slacker on digital roll out as TCI was to the upgrade of their cable plant. SFA and TWX on the other hand have been setting the pace to follow. A deal to buy GIC by one of the companies mentioned would go a long way to speed both the upgrades and the set top box deployment. While I have to favor SFA because they will market and sell the CCUR server, GIC getting in the game will broaden the market faster and CCUR's server is being integrated with the DT-5000 box as we speak.
