What Nixon did was far worse. The reason I give him 2 years grace is he's working for me and I don't want him wasting his time over bullsh*t. The same way I don't want my congress wasting time over bullsh*t. The guy should pay but I don't think he should be fired. That's what impeachment is. If he has broken the law, which I doubt they can prove in a real trial, put him away or fine him or whatever, but don't do it on my nickel for this penny ante cr*p.

"Dear Steve: Why should he get a 2 year PASS unless its POLITICAL? Dont recall anyone with that attitude with Nixon. JDN"

Well obviously we'll disagree on this one (though we seem to agree on stocks: Sun and Compaq are my main holdings) but Nixon and Clinton are accused of very different crimes. In fact, the impeachment committee found evidence that Nixon had repeatedly lied on his taxes (which is perjury) but decided it was not an impeachable offense.

If he hadn't been pardoned, i think Nixon would've ended up in jail. Clinton won't be pardoned, and won't end up in jail. There's a big difference here.

You can't prosecute a president while in office. Do you think all presidential crimes should therefore be impeachable?

What if, while fishing, George Bush got in a minor boating accident and was found to have been drinking? I know this is hypothetical but drinking and boating is a crime. Would it be impeachable though?

More importantly, with Iraq and impeachment, what's the market going to do tomorrow?
