Jim, and just how do you know what the will of the people is- opinion polls conducted by ABC and The New York Times??

This is not a democracy. It is a representative democracy, and the will of the people will be known on Election Day 2000. BTW, the will of the people re-elected Republican majorities in the House and Senate in '98.

Are you saying that the President isn't playing political games right now, either?

Regards,

LoD

<<How honorable is it for the Republican congress to ignore the will of the people?>>

Kind of like ignoring the majority's opinion on the ban on partial birth abortion, isn't it?

Now can we get back to Dell? Thanks.

Ever tried answering algebra problems with a poll?

Are you saying that if Clinton was unpopular in the polls, then it would be alright to impeach him? Would it even be necessary for him to commit a crime like perjury? After all, if the people's "will" is for an unpopular President to go, why worry about silly things like actual guilt? Stalin never did.

Conversely, if a President is popular, does he get a free ride? Perjury's OK for him, not others who aren't popular or at least are to little (like me and you and Paula Jones) to bother with.

Sorry, got distracted. Why's Dell stuck?
