Great idea, this Internet retail thing. Maybe the combined company can hook up with Ubid, then we can call it STUBIDFX. The only way an idea like direct sales via the Internet would work, IMO is if 3dfx sold their product at a significant discount to other Internet and brick-and-mortar retail outlets. What would be the point in this? 3DFX can sell in volume to OEM's and large retail outlets with a significant profit marging or they can undercut the prices of their own best customers and sell their products one-by-one over the web.
