Let's have some fun...I'm mad as hell, and not going to take it anymore
As some of you know, I've been enraged recently by the misreporting of the "gainers" on the market by CNBC and Daily Stocks. As far as CNBC goes, I don't really care, because they don't rate the gainers. They just say; here are the winners and loosers. If they ignore the real gainers, so be it. BUT, Daily Stocks ranks the winners and losers on the NASDAQ, #1, #2, #3, etc. BUT, they are not even close. Today, they listed BIORY, with 6600 shares traded, and a 25% gain as the number 1 gainer, and VSEC, also with 6600 shares traded, and a 22% gain, as the number 2 gainer on the NASDAQ. No mention of the 9 stocks that actually were greater gainers than BIORY, with a minimum volume of 206,000 shares, and a maximum of over 8,000,000 shares!!
The web site says to send comments to:
mike@dailystocks.com
So, I sent him the following message
How does a company get on this list?????
LGCYC up 85%...not on list only 154400 shares traded WCAP up 41.8% ... not on list only 415000 shares traded XPRT up 38.7%...not on list only 206000 shares traded INSP up 33.3%...not on list only 8,811,600 shares traded EGEO up 29.6%...not on list only 293,300 shares traded TCTV up 29%...not on list only 2,073,500 shares traded GIX up 26.9%...not on list only 1,081,700 shares traded EVOL up 26.4%...not on list only 221,600 shares traded ISCO up 25.7%....not on list only 325,900 shares traded RMTI up 25%...not on list only 266,900 shares traded UCMP up 23.5% .... not on list only 1,006,400 shares traded CYPH up 23.1%...not on list only 886,600 shares traded
BUT, YOU HAVE BIORY #1 UP 25% on 6600 shares!!??!! AND, YOU HAVE VSEC #2 UP 22.4% on 6600 shares!!??!! You have no mention at all of the above stocks! How does it work? I always thought that 85%, 41.8%, 38.7%, 33.3%, 29.6%, 29%, 26.9%, 26.4%, and 25.7% were bigger than 25%. Does a company have to be a sponsor of your web site to be listed, or WHAT. Please e-mail me with your criteria for being listed as a top percentage gainer on the NASDAQ.
Thanks, Ed
I think it would be fun if a bunch of us sent a similar message. I understand that the news media is highly biased to the left, but it seems to me that financial reporting, like science, should be objective. This site, clearly, is not. I could almost understand if some little stock that traded 6600 shares and gained 100% was off the list, but to exclude a company that traded over 8,000,000 shares and gained over 33% is just, plain, wrong.
And, FWIW, I DON'T hold positions, at the present time, in any of the stocks I have mentioned in this message.
Ed
