Winfield Capital says RoweCom registers for IPO
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Dec 15 (Reuters) - Small business
investment firm Winfield Capital Corp. (Nasdaq:WCAP - news) said
Tuesday that one of the companies in its portfolio, RoweCom Inc., has filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering.The terms of the IPO have not yet been disclosed.Cambridge, Mass.-based RoweCom operates ''Knowledge Stores'' that provide organizations with customized intranet ''company stores'' where employees can order books, subscriptions, newspapers and other products online. Winfield Capital has purchased 440,270 preferred shares of RoweCom for $3.407 each which are convertible, currently on a one-for-one basis, into RoweCom common shares.
