Seems like an eventual development that must happen, but when is the time to buy? I heard an interesting comment on Gates' venture into low orbit satellites where they said his entire plan was a fake out to get the Chinese government to court his satellite launching business. If that happened, he could get them to crush software pirates in return.

I think Loral has some things up their sleeve for this market. 2 years ago, they divested most defense business to go after Space.

There are 2 way VSAT systems happening today. I hold stock in Harmonic Lightwaves who sells gear to handle up and down links. I had never realized that many credit cards transactions are approved this way.

HLIT also does equipment for optical fiber used mostly in cable systems and they have gear for wireless broadband services.

Regards,

Mark

Stitch,
Iridium-- you might want to take a look at 10-q for IRIDF. Finance is not my strength but I believe Motorola actually owns a good bit more than 20% when you factor in the unexercised warrants.
Friggin' complicated structure (probably a mental twinkie for LK <g>).

I'd play it from the Motorola angle rather than direct. Bigger upside going the direct route though.

Sorry-not much help,

Yogi
