Ausdauer, at Circuit City you can buy a desktop CD player for $100, $200, $500 even more than $1,000. The differences to the average user are slight. A friend of mine once paid well over $100 for a portable FM radio .. because it was small enough to use as a key chain. You can get some cell phones free with your service but the world's smallest cell phone costs almost $1,000. There appears to be a market at every price point.

A kid who buys a <$100 CD player will spend a great deal more than that for actual CDs. And the better part of $100 a year on batteries. If for an extra $100-$200 they could shrink their CD player to the size of a keychain and let them customize their music, it's small money. If they can get an extra hour of flash for the price of a video game cartridge, it's also small money.

Kids have a LOT of spending money and CF will keep getting cheaper. Eventually the "Here's What I Can Afford"/"Here's What It Costs" lines will cross. Just like electronic cameras are starting to do now.

Let us not forget that the same CF card you might use in your MP3 player would work just fine in your camera, your voice recorder, and for exchanging data between PCs.
