Do you get US business news via the European CNN or something better in SA? This is the channel that carries business information on TV in Cairo and its not nearly as good as CNN fn over here--good reason for you to come to the States.

that is certainly the case with Intel, although I'm not sure ethics have a lot to do with it. They want to encourage stable long term orders so they can predict the relatively long manufacturing cycles. There has been a fair amount of discussion on this topic on the Dell thread - in a market which is tight for parts, JIT builders like Dell can get squeezed.
