~OT~ The only public opinion poll that our elected officials should be concerned about is the one that happens every two years in November. This is, after all, a representative democracy. I'm astonished that some people think that we live in a take a referendum on every matter country. I don't recall ever reading about that in the Constitution.

The last election, while there was a loss of seats in Congress by the Republicans, still sent the Republicans back to Washington with majorities in both houses. Sounds like the will of the American people (those that cared to exercise their right to vote) was heard clearly in November.
