SuperBAT Pikes Peak Race Car Will Be Warming Up in New Zealand; SuperBAT and BAT Contribute New Technology to Help Beat Speed Records PR Newswire - December 16, 1998 10:00 CHULA VISTA, Calif., Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- BAT International (OTC Bulletin Board: BAAT) and its subsidiaries have added additional team members of RS Competition and Keith Harper to form the "TVT Race Team" and have added another race event in New Zealand in a bid to set new records for peak hill climbing world wide. The "TVT Race Team" was created to publicly demonstrate TVT Anti-Friction Metal Treatment & Dolphin Pulse Charge technology (see press release 11/30/98). RS Competition Machine was added to the "TVT Race Team" this week to further improve engine development capabilities. RS Competition Machine is best known for building champion engines for the NHRA Pro Modified racing car category. When their capabilities are combined with BAT technology, a very high horsepower engine will result. Initial dyno results suggest that engine horsepower is likely to be much higher than 700 hp (actual amount is classified information). BAT technologies that will be incorporated in the vehicle and engine include BAT's SuperBAT lubricant additives in all friction points in the vehicle (see the web site at www.superbat.com) and BAT Dolphin Pulse Charge modifications of the engine (see web site at www.pulsecharge.com). The addition of RS Competition Machine to the Keith Harper Race Team means that the race vehicle will be completed sooner than anticipated. As a result, the race team has just signed up to participate in the New Zealand Hill Climb over Easter Week, 1999. This is a similar hill climbing course in New Zealand up some very wild mountain roads. The event will provide an ideal opportunity to test out the performance of the vehicle and new technology. Preparations will then focus on Pikes Peak, the world's premier hill climbing event. The 12.2 mile road up Pikes Peak consists of a 5000 foot vertical rise up to a 14,000 foot peak that has 156 switchback turns with no guard rails and mind-boggling drop-offs. The race is well televised and attended by top international race teams who seek the coveted trophy, with a record that now stands at 10 minutes, 4 seconds. The TVT Race Team will be ready to beat the "10 minute barrier" as a result of advanced technology and a top-notch race team. Keith Harper has extensive experience in uphill racing, is a test driver for General Motors Corporation and recently has been put in charge of the General Motors Test Center at Pikes Peak. Keith was named Rookie of the Year in 1989 and 1991 and has finished in the top three at Colorado Hill Climb Association events for the last eight years. The Pikes Peak Challenge is also not new to BAT, which has designed and built half of all electric vehicles that have climbed Pikes Peak successfully in the history of the Pikes Peak Challenge. BAT is now ready to "Challenge the Peak" with new technologies it will be marketing for internal combustion engines in 1999 including TVT Anti-Friction Metal Treatment and Dolphin Pulse Charge technology. BAT International is organized as a holding company with major ownership position in a set of subsidiary companies now commercializing advanced automotive and energy technology products developed by BAT over the last six years. This includes electric vehicles, super-efficient or high power engines, advanced batteries and power electronics, electric bicycles and Scooters, Super anti-friction additives and electric power generation, (for more information, call Cheryl Mitchell (360) 384-2730 or visit the Company's web site: www.baat.com) This press release contains forward-looking statements that should not be used to make an investment decision.
