I'm not a chemist anymore, but I remember that gold melts about 1063 C, and boils at 2600 C (curiously, the same as silicon).

Dear JDN: I am not a chemist either, but GOLD will melt under high intensity heat. How do you think they make those gold chains, gold rings, or those gold earings on your ears. haha Just kidding!
