Ernie, the classical solution is "reformat, reinstall", though you could probably get by with just the reinstall part. Since IE is "integrated", reinstall means reinstall Win98, of course.

Or, you could install Netscape! But, you might be left with other problems in Win98, the OS that was supposed to suck less :-(. Part of the "benefit to consumers" of "integrated IE".

I've actually got W98 running on one machine, it sorta works ok, seemed to be holding together at least as well as OSR2, but after it hung up once, it wouldn't get through scandisk on the reboot. Couldn't get out of it either. I had to unplug the disk, which wasn't the system disk, got a clean boot & shutdown, tried to plug the disk back in, still hung up in scandisk. Time to dig up the old DOS disk I guess.

Cheers, Dan.

Ernie, I would bet that it's your graphics card. Try getting the latest drivers.

And Dan... the problems you always say you have with Windows 95/98 are astounding. But since it is unprecedented that someone would have such difficulties, it's probably safe to conclude that yours is an isolated problem. Monopoly or not, it would be impossible for Microsoft to actually be able to sell an OS that is as bad as you've experienced.
