I've seen it work very well in the past on other threads where there was a strong core of longs who wanted to stay touch while they waited for relevant news. Life of the Thread is a subjective term, imho, which gets into quantity/quality issues. There's lots to say and post about the digitization of the global import/export industry and pnlk's relationship to it. All that stuff and supporting links can serve as thread material while we wait for news. A clubhouse is a great place to hangout and chat, share ideas, gut feelings, personal info., etc. to our hearts content without subjecting newbies to all of it. Just a thought. Club house links go right at the top of the thread link on each post, so it is very easy to toggle back and forth between the two.
