All,

Got my new Case and Motherboard Yesterday. Boxed all the old crap up and sent it back. Assmebled all the basic components and got the machine to POST at 450 Cas2 ECC with no problems this time. Those ABIT DIMM connectors SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!. I really like the BIOS and the Jumperless CPU setup. Its far superior to the AMI Windows looking BIOS on my Tyan board. The AMI WIN BIOS doesn't by default reserve all the resources for legacy and ISA components so it requires extra setup. The BH6 does NOT auto detect the Parameters on the 14.4 Gig Drive properly. I have it paritioned using PM 4.0 and was in the process of installing NT when I left for work this morning. Couldn't not get CD to Boot with the Toshiba CD and BT-930 SCSI Controller.

It recognizes the CD as bootable and spins it up and then prints to the screen "Press Any Key to Reboot". I tried all combos of settings in the System Bios and SCSI Bios with no luck. I have never actually booted of this specific Toshiba CD. So tonight. I will swap in a Plextor and see if it works. If not I will swap in the Adaptec SCSI Controller with the Plextor and get that work and then go back and try the Toshiba CD again. I need to know if its the SCSI Controller, CD, MOBO or some combination there off. NT installation is so much more convient when you can boot off the CD.

I worked around the problem and use my trusty parallel port syquest EZ-135 drive to load NT. I can't stress enough how incredible useful one of these external parallel port drives are for the power users, consultants, and people with multiple computers....

Any Comments or Ideas?

Sean
