A question for the thread

Chief used an example of looking for a .30 profit
approx. on a 5.00 stock, which is 6%. over and above
catching nice runs do most of you look for taking a
profit at approx. 5% no matter the price of the stock
or is there a descending scale in relation to the
price of the stock. Looking forward to your comments.
