Open Options Interests (Dec. Options):

$10 call = 543;$10 put = 340; $12.5 call = 1173; $12.5 put = 152.

based on past history (which seems to correlate as you say with maximum options expiring worthless), we'll definately close below $12.5 friday. the only question is can they push VLSI down to $10 to take care of the $10 calls. more likely, we'll hang around $11, so the $10 puts are worthless and $10 calls not worth much.
