That's exactly my experience. I found BKS has the same book price as AMZN. BAMM is a little bit cheaper, but less selection. I just bought Tom Wolfe' Man in Full (a great book) from a local Crown book store. The store gives 40% discount on all NY Times best sellers. So it's even cheaper to buy best sellers from Crown than AMZN.

I have to wonder what kind of model they are using on AMZN. I bought a few books there to begin with, but using shop bots I have found there is always somewhere cheaper.

X, is this some kind of price comparison site ? This is something that I have been trying to find. With the transparency of the Web, I think it is inevitable that price comparison will be simple and free and also the reason that E-commerce margins will always range between slim and none.

TIA,
John
