I may have misread the article on SGI anouncements. I thought that SGI was going to sell quad zeons at 5k. If this is true, then the marketplace will sell quads at 60% of SGI's price. SGI that spends an extra hundred dollars making what my eyes behold as an ugly case will always sell at a premium over the comodity market. That's the 40% that I predict. SGI is also bundling in their special graphics on the motherboard. This 250 dollar cost to SGI is matched on the street for a cost of 40. These are just my WAGs.

Quat Xeon's don't sell for $3K but rather $7K, according to SGI. They are claiming that their product range will range from $3200 for base NT model, to $6999 for quad Xeon NT Box.

I got to see it to believe it though..
