I guess no comment is called for about the oil drilling stocks, but will point out that SDC is up over 13% today. I don't like holding a portfolio that is predicated on catastrophes of various kinds but when 95% of the investing public is on cloud nine it seems best to pick another meteorological level. As 1998 draws to a close, the only really smart thing I seem to have done is the Matthews Korea Fund--up over 50%; it's more fun to be on the positive side of something.
