Bob,

Mike, Do you put any credence to the buyout rumors for Schwab? I know CNBS has been mentioning the possibility.

I do not have knowledge of this potential transaction, but correct me if my memory is faulty. The last time Schwab was sold, was not that in 87...prior to the crash? Interesting if true.

Steve

Bob, Since they were once taken over by Bank of America, I suppose another bank could be stupid enough to buy them. But most banks are bleeding internally right now from other stupid decisions they have made, so I don't give that much credence. A broker who knows the business is not likely to buy them. So, I have to wonder, who? An insurance co.? Possible, but the variance of pe ratios makes it a tough deal to do with stock.
