I don't need to prove anything to you, you have to disprove reality.

I remember the debate and political dynamics. Clinton and the Dems wanted to push a balanced budget to 2003, 2004 or 2005. The Reps won big in 1994 and with the help of the Perotistas, forced it on him.

The Dems felt abandoned, as Slick was looking to the 1996 race.
