Interim News Flash...

ELECTRIC CAR PASSES 400 MILES ON A SINGLE CHARGE & IS STILL GOING STRONG.

DATELINE ALAMEDA AIR STATION, OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA...

The electric automobile distance record (well publicized) is still in progress in Northern California. The attempt at the world record was delayed by unusually high off shore winds several times over the past weekend. At 8 a.m. Monday June 16, at the Alameda Naval Station, which is the sight of the record attempt, the electric car built by BAT International (OTC:BAAT) equipped with Kummerow zinc air batteries passed the 400 mile mark.
Mr. LaStella, President of BAT International, stated that "the car used less than half of its battery energy during the first 400 miles". At the press conference scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday June 16, the car will be on view during its continuing run. The test is scheduled to end sometime Tuesday June 17 and is expected to achieve a range greater than 800 miles on a single battery charge. (See press release from June 11, 1997)
