So what exactly qualifies as insider information anyway? My hot pick for this month (MSGI) is rumored to be in acquisition mode and news of their newest acquisition is supposed to come out quite possibly this week. Does that mean I possess insider information? If I found that information on a stock board is it insider, or would I need to know what specific company is being acquired for it to be insider? Likewise, if someone called DGIV or Worldvision and were told that on December 31th, they intend to switch on their global IP Telephony Network (please, please, please understand that this is completely hypothetical and I have no information suggesting such a thing), but the company doesn't issue a press release until it happens, would that then be insider information? In this example, the company would tell that to anyone that calls and asks, so it's free to the public if the public inquires. I'm just trying to get a handle on what makes something insider or not. Thanks. Kurt (#79)
