Mr K - man are you naive if you think someones background is irrelevant in key matters like this. I remember when Ken Starrs report first came out on the internet.... remember that? Well a friend of mines father who once held a sort of diplomatic post was outraged - shocked really - this is a very conservative person btw never voted dem in his life. He couldnt believe that no one even THOUGHT about what trash like this posted on a worldwide medium such as the internet would do to foreign affairs. I must say Ive wondered this myself. So tell me, why were stupid decisions like that made by the republican party huh? Can you give me a good reason why we need to humiliate our leaders to the world? Could it be that the republican party is full of a bunch of bozos whose former careers were in pest control and dont have any concept of the fragile worldwide political climate we live in where the US is only one player? Because thats what it looks like to me. And when I see the lame backgrounds of some of these guys well it all makes sense. Of course if the republicans had better judgement in this matter, and behaved like statesmen, then you are correct it wouldnt matter what DeLays background is. But, they are NOT behaving like statemen.
