Surveys are a good idea, but...

...they only work when you offer cash prizes! (g)

Actually, unfortunately, I'm serious about that. Heck, software companies even have a hard time getting buyers of their products to send in their registration cards. Computer magazines regularly send out user surveys and most of these use drawings as incentive for people to fill them out.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying people would scoff at an SI survey without some personal incentive. I'm saying that most people would just click on by leaving it for the next guy figuring one less person probably won't make much of a difference. Human nature. Perversely, many of these same people will be the ones who will be most vocally opposed to whatever actions SI takes as a result of the survey. Again, human nature.

Lastly, on profanity, put me strongly down on the anti-profanity side. Sure I cuss as much as the next guy, but, for reasons I'm having a hard time putting in writing, I don't like to see such language in print, especially in the context of a public investment site where people of all ages are welcome.
