Biologists are pretty sharp folks but maybe they're not too focused on stock prices right now, give 'em some stock options for Christmas and that will change fast. Damn, how often does something have to be drilled into one's head before it finally makes sense. MARKETING, MARKETING MARKETING! It's what made the difference between Microsoft and Apple (along with licensed vs proprietary technology) I've seen inferior technology triumph over superior and/or original technology many times because someone understood marketing. If anyone from Aastrom is reading this right now, take note that most cord-blood articles in the press have absolutely no mention of Aastrom. You know it would be very easy to post follow-up PR on every one of these articles touting Aastrom's Replicell as the answer to the cord-blood shortage, etc. Since most investor news today is gathered online, all you would need to do scan the web each night for any reference to cord-blood, write a quick article making sure to put a link to the original article, remind your readers that "This, (click here) article is another fine example of the things that Aastrom Replicell technology is making possible." And issue a press release each and every morning if necessary. I don't care if you do this ten times per week with absolutely no substance whatsoever except something like the above. The point is cord-blood transfusions need to eventually become synonomous with Aastrom or they will become synonomous with someone else who understands marketing. PS: Dont forget to put ASTM in every piece of PR. And for God's sake do this in a timely manner.
