Those are all too common: NASDAQ, I believe, requires MMs to report only by 4 pm. When they do that, however, it's impossible to know what those blocks consisted of: Were they intra-MM, so that someone who needed to balance his sheet was buying/selling inventory; was it a delayed report, and if so, was it a buy or sell?
Obviously, the big juice is in OTC issues, but the capacity for obfuscation allowed by the rules makes it very difficult to see the forest for the trees sometimes.
In retrospect, though, I guess the blocks you saw were accumulation.
That's been the case with AKLM for quite a while now.
