BOOKS-A-MILLION INC (Nasdaq:BAMM - news) UP 8-7/16 AT 18-1/2 The book retailer said it plans to acquire Nashville-based Internet services company NetCentral Inc. ------------------------ CONCUR TECHNOLOGIES INC (Nasdaq:CNQR - news) UP 5-3/16 AT 17-3/16 The software company shares soared after having priced 2.9 million shares at $12.50 on Tuesday night. ------------------------ CYBERIAN OUTPOST INC (Nasdaq:COOL - news) UP 2-11/16 AT 28-11/16 AMAZON.COM INC (Nasdaq:AMZN - news) UP 45-1/8 AT 287-7/8 The Internet-only computer products retailer said it has been included as one of the featured companies on Amazon.com's new ''Shop the Web'' referral service. Amazon.com shot up after CIBC Oppenheimer raised its target price for the company to $400 a share from $150. ------------------------ BUCKEYE TECHNOLOGIES INC (NYSE:BKI - news) OFF 2-1/2 AT 12-3/8 The company said late Tuesday it expects second quarter earnings per share to fall 25 percent below analysts' estimates of $0.37 per share. The company blamed a slowdown in global market demand as one of the reasons for the downturn. ------------------------ QUIKSILVER INC (NYSE:ZQK - news) UP 3-3/8 AT 28-1/8 The company reported fourth quarter EPS of $0.43 per diluted share versus $0.23 the prior year. ------------------------ SPRINT PCS GROUP (NYSE:PCS - news) UP 1-11/16 AT 16-1/8 Morgan Stanley Dean Witter initiated coverage of the company with a strong buy rating. ------------------------ CONSOLIDATED CIGAR HOLDINGS INC (NYSE:CIG - news) UP 1-9/16 AT 17-7/16. Morgan and Goldman Sachs cut their ratings on the company.
