If he gets rid of Saddam Hussein in the process so much the better. It's pretty clear that bombing alone is not going to get rid of Saddam. It would take weeks to prepare for a major ground offensive. To start a major war now with the country this divided would be insane. The country might close ranks at first, but as soon as the first body bags started coming home, Clinton's core liberal defenders would start demanding his head too.
