<< Well, the next step would be to ban abortions completely. >>

Hyde has never hidden his goal of banning abortion. On the other hand, he very seldom mentions this in public. That's sneaky.

<< Women traveling outside the country will have to subject themselves to a mandatory pregnancy test at the airports, and if they are pregnant, they should sign a document affirming that they will not have an abortion in their destination country or elsewhere. >>

It could happen. We know that the Republicans are extreme enough to shut down the country two times. Once these fundamentalist politicians get control over women's reproductive rights, what will be next on the slippery slope?

I can't imagine the women of this country wanting their most private health and reproductive decisions in the hands of these mean spirited Republicans.

<< If they happen to have a miscarriage abroad, they have to provide a doctor's certificate to that effect upon entry to the US and be prepared to face interrogation in a court of law... and it goes on from there. >>

And it goes on from there down the slippery slope.

If the Republicans get the Presidency in 2000 and the majority in Congress, you can kiss women's health and reproductive rights goodbye!
I wonder how many Republicans support the Taliban of Afganistan where women can't work or go to school? Women and children are starving at the hands of the Taliban Republicans.

Talk about a cheap scare tactic. If anybody ever thought there could be a line that a cornered psychopath would not cross; you just prove them wrong.
