Woody, Ivan, et al, Here's the culprit BancBoston Robertson Stephens Reiterates Buy Rating on Acclaim Entertainment And Raises Estimates SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is being issued by BancBoston Robertson Stephens, a member of the National Association of Securities Dealers, CRD number 41271: BancBoston Robertson Stephens senior consumer technology analyst Stephen S. Fleming today reiterated his Buy rating on Acclaim Entertainment (AKLM). Acclaim Entertainment is a publisher of game software, primarily for video platforms, including Sony PlayStation, Nintendo 64 and the forthcoming Sega Dreamcast platform. The company has recently sought to diversify its sources of revenue, and also produces games for the PC and GameBoy platforms. "We are raising our November quarter EPS estimate from $0.08 to $0.14, and are standing by our $0.23 February quarter estimate," said Fleming. "We are raising our full F1999 EPS estimate from $0.44 to $0.50. We reiterate our Buy rating, and believe that considerable EPS upside potential remains. Our sales projections for both Turok 2 and South Park will likely prove conservative, as both titles have real potential to be breakaway hits in what already promises to be a record Christmas for the game software industry as a whole." Fleming believes that Acclaim is poised to report significant earnings upside when it reports November-quarter (FQ1:99) results in the second week of January. New retail sell-through data releases today shows a continued strong performance by key summer releases including WWF: Warzone and All-Star Baseball '99, with NFL Quarterback Club '99 making a strong debut in the month of November.
