So this means Intel won't have anything above 500 MHz until near the end of the 2nd quarter.
The Katmai does not need Camino to run. It could be plugged into any existing Slot 1.

My assumption is that that is correct.

Then why has VIA licensed the Slot 1/P6 chip set and SIS about ready to sign a CHIP Set license with Intel?

The high volume Celeron may use the socket 370 interface, but the electrical interface will be identical to Slot 1.
