Joe, Steve:
Another reason why CSCO wants to enter consumer market may be
to make it a household name.
They already poured a few million dollars through (gutter) news media
and TV and then realized that people don't buy anything directly from them and it is a big PR stunt. Now they want to have a name recognition with Joe six pack( not our 3COM SI guard) and want to
sell some
consumer related products. Remember their big foe Lucent sells
some consumer product like phones. CSCO wants to sell phone and
then may be modem, pagers, Windows CE and then NICs. Then CSCO
will be a household name provided they sell a decent product.
On COM.COM.COM side:
Two more short-term buying opportunities: tomorrow and
the day they impeach our big Cigar donor BC. I think the 2nd one happening before earnings report is not very unlikely as Hide and Co
will work hard even during weekend to perform their "fair-minded"
constitutional duty.
All the best.
