NEWS ALERT SI 12-16-98: All fortune 500 companies today announced that they will sell off all their assets and build big beautiful web sites just to sell books. The strategy calls for borrowing money to build the sites as no profit is needed. The stocks will go public at 200$ a share. As for the liquidation of all the assets, the sale proceeeds form the assets will be distributed to the current shareholders. In addition, each current shareholder will get 10 shares for each share of the stock they owned.
