Tom, I love this quote from your cited post:

<<AMZN could have "earnings-per-share of $10 within five years.">>

So that would give them a PE of 30 at their present price, FIVE YEARS FROM NOW. I know the market looks forward, but this is absurd. Actually, shorting near 300 may be a good thing, at least in the short term, as it may be a psychological barrier. Good luck.

Tom,

Many credible analysts are laughing pretty hard at that AMZN $400 price target and making $10/share in five years. Amazon has very little chance of making even $1/share in five years let alone that number. No doubt they will loose more money than ever this quarter.

Some reporters were saying maybe someone should issue a $1000 target and really get the stock moving. At $400, the market is discounting probably 10-20 years of spectacular earnings growth (which Amazon does not have).

I was going to wait after the new year and the split, but I just may short it tomorrow instead and see if the market sobers up on this stock. I'm sure when AMZN comes back to earth all the bulls will claim how they got out at the top!

When it blows through his target and starts printing 400s we'll see who's laughing <g>

Tom, probably a good move shorting AMZN today. ButI have been burned so many times on YHOO that I have become gunshy on the big Internets until this frenzy dies down.

Meanwhile, silly me, I'm trying to find calls with a strike of 300! <g> If you short Amzn, I hope you have, at minimum, a mental stop in place.

BTW, a month ago I was calling for ANZM to hit AT LEAST 300 pre-split:

Message 6542031

300 target based on the amount it moved previously around split time.
I think 450 is realistic now.....yes, I know it's obscene, but why fight the tape?

Tom,

Where did you find shares to short? Not that I'm wanting any, but I've checked with a few brokerage firms just to see what they have and they all tell me they do not have any shares! If I had a profit as you do, I would be very careful and not let it get away! I would not be surprised to see AMZN up on the day! Still very bullish on the over all market!
