I don't know. Our town has great curbside recycling- which I look at as a gift. We really save at least one trashcan a week in newspapers, cardboard, cans and plastics. Plus we habe greenwaste collection for free- they recycle that too. I love it. And I get cash from the Reynolds recycling truck for my soda cans.

I do that, too. I'm sure the reason not everyone does it is because it is such a nuisance. Our recycling isn't even picked up at our house, we have to drive it all, in its various categories, to a collecting place down the road once a week if we want to recycle. I also have a worry about how it is handled. My fear is that I separate everything, tie the categories of paper into bundles, wash the cans and jars... and the truck picks it all up, drives away, and then dumps it onto an enormous common pile.

Cobalt, I recycle too, and have been for most of my life. I would also repeat again that I also refuse a bag when there is less than a few items, and encourage others to also. Just think of all of those trees that would be saved if every American refused those plastic bags just once a week.
