REFAC Licenses 3Com Corporation Under the Storer Patent

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 17, 1998--REFAC
Technology Development Corporation (AMEX: REF) announced
today the signing of a non-exclusive license agreement with 3Com
Corporation for the rights to U.S. Patent No. 4,876,541 (the
"Storer Patent"). REFAC holds the exclusive licensing rights to the
Storer Patent, which it maintains covers the basic data compression
procedures recommended by the International Telecommunication
Union Standards Section (V.42bis). REFAC and 3Com have
agreed to treat the terms of the license agreement as confidential.
