The concept of doubling the connection is very interesting. 56k modems only hook up at 28.8 in my rural area, occasionally 31.2 So I guess I could run at 56 with two lines. Have you found that ping times are reduced appropriately with the 92k connection, or is just bandwith increased?

I'm planning on upgrading to ISDN the first of the year. It's the only fast internet access available here. For 128k with no charge for local calls it's only about $15 a month more than two phone lines and one $30 isp charge.

Check out the multi-monitors feature with Windows 98. That's the only way to go.

You're right, two monitors is just what I need. I've resisted buying Windows 98, thinking I might buy a new computer soon and it would be included with the system. I did upgrade to a 19" Hitachi 753 monitor about a month ago. What a dramatic difference! I run it at 1600x1200 and get get way more on the one screen I have. Even at that resolution, the screen is much more readable than the 17" View Sonic was two settings lower.

Doug,

I'm interested in the Windows 98 multi-monitor feature you spoke of. I was looking into the Appiantech "Jeronimo Pro" PCI card (retail around $1000.00). Is this the same as the windows program? If so, how does it work?

appiantech.com

Thanks in advance
