The bombing of Pearl Harbor was an act of war, Nikita. And of course it was "stupid" for the Iranians to take Americans hostage -- look at the consequences. My point was, however, that Americans, at that time, were surprised -- they thought they all wore some sort of magic bullet-proof vest. Now that the age of terrorism has arrived, Americans certainly do not feel that secure any more. If anything, they feel (with some justification) that they are more vulnerable than anyone else. Things change... jbe
