Whether anyone admits it or not, the action in Iraq is far more than punishment for the UNSCOM thing. This is a resumption of the Gulf War. Saddam did not abide by the terms of the 1991 surrender.

So how will we bring the war to a real conclusion? We're bombing desert. You can bomb desert until the hounds come home and it simply won't make any difference. Saddam wins again. Desert Fox will cost a billion a day, and Saddam is laughing.

So when the bombing stops, now what? He's still there.

We're going to have to put troops on the ground and go in and get him. That will unite all of Arabia throughout the world against the nonbelievers. Saddam wins. Again.

Eventually, Israel will make him glow.
