The problem with the Republican party at this point is that they have no elder statesman with a sense of priorities and sanity. If Barry Goldwater were alive today (or Ronald Reagan was still capable), he'd be counseling them right now what it means to make the kind of utterances that were made yesterday while US military forces were engaged in action. I never thought I'd see the day when the "conservative" party in this nation would effectually give aid and comfort to an enemy, but then, I never believed that responsible leaders would target an elected president for five years as if he were an organized crime leader. The conservative wing of the Republicans has been reckless for some time now, but in accusing Clinton of bombing Iraq to take the wind out of the impeachment drive it has reached a new low.
